Wamsutta Family Update 05/18/2018

Good afternoon, Wamsutta Families. I want to first thank the many families and friends who chipped in to make our 3rd Color Run both a successful fundraiser (we raised over $7000!) and a wonderful afternoon for kids. Some extra special thanks go to Jenn Corbett, Laura DeSimone, and Robert Fregault as the leaders of our PTO, without whom neither the Color Run or the many other field trips and activities for students would be possible.

Good morning, Wamsutta Families. We hope to see many of you this afternoon for our Color Run. We have been blessed with good weather for our 3rd straight year! Backpack Alert and Digital Notices: In backpacks today, we have a notice from the SMARTS Summer Institute and information about our PBIS program’s PawSox night on June 6th. We did this for the first-time last year and it was really nice, as the kids who attended got to hear their name called before the game and trotted across the outfield as well. A digital copy of the PawSox and SMARTS information is attached, as well as notices from the Summer Kids Eats Cafe/Attleboro Interfaith Collaborative program, the Summer Writing Camp at Rhode Island College, and information from Camp Ramsbottom and the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket.

Wamsutta Family Update 04/27/2018

Another week of testing is in the books. All grades have had their ELA assessment, and I was pleased overall with the effort of the kids, which is really all we ask for. As I told the students this morning, although there are tests ahead and it doesn’t get any easier, the Math and Science assessments are at least shorter in duration. We hope the kids keep up their efforts, because if they give it their best shot, we do get a good look at what students’ strengths and weaknesses are, and can attempt to personalize instruction in the coming years.
