Good morning WMS students and families.

I have linked below and attached above the learning plans for next week.

Grade 6

Grade 7

Grade 8

In other news:

1.       The Attleboro Public Library has a wealth of resources that can help families both supplement and extend their remote learning.  Click here to learn more.

2.       As far as the remote learning plans go, please remember that the general guidance I have for you is the same as the State and the District messaging:  Our teachers are doing their best to provide a good learning experience, we hope that every student will do their best on their assignments, and we hope our families will do their best to support the students while at home.  When assignments do not get done/are too much on a given day, just let the teachers know.  Two-way communication helps optimize a decidedly suboptimal situation.

3.       Families should start seeing scores appear in Aspen for T3, in addition to the feedback given on assignments in Google classroom and meets that often goes directly to students.  These scores are unweighted and designed to give families a check in on how their students is performing.  I hope to have complete clarity for families about how we will give both Trimester 3 “grades” and year-end grades next week.  There have been many difficulties in trying to create a system that is fair and hopefully will work for everybody.  Stay tuned for this, but please know that we have the guidance above in #2 at the forefront of our thinking about grades.

4.       We are also moving towards clarity about how we will end the year in terms of locker clean out, Chromebook and other returns where applicable, and a ton of other issues.  Nothing is final, but we are looking at the week of June 8th as a time to start getting staff and students in the building to accomplish all this, with serious social distancing and low numbers of people in the building at any given time.  Again, please stay tuned.

On behalf of the entire staff at WMS, we appreciate the patience everyone has shown and the efforts of students and families as we continue in this remote learning environment.
