Wamsutta Family Update 11/02/2018
Posted on 11/02/2018
Good morning, Wamsutta families.
Backpack Alert and Digital Notices:  Nothing is going home on paper today.  We do have information for the Elks’ Hoops Shoot attached for those interested.
1.       Despite moments where we thought we were in the clear, we are still struggling with our phone system.  It should be repaired soon, but please bear with us.  Any calls for sick/absent students can be emailed to me at jconnor@attleboroschools.com.  Any other concerns can be emailed to me as well and I can get the information where it needs to go.  We are hoping again that this will be resolved today, and please forgive us for any voicemail messages we may have missed.
2.       Cookie Dough and other orders from our Fall Fundraiser can be picked up on November 19th starting at 4 PM in our cafeteria.  We are working to make this pickup window as long as we can, but if you cannot pick up between 4 and 6 PM on November 19th, please let me know so we can make an alternate plan.  We are truly thankful for the many who participated in this very successful fundraiser!
3.       Our Curriculum Calendar is up for the month of November and can be found on our website and at this link: http://bit.ly/2CsjPfc.  Again, our goal here is to let families know the big picture version of our curriculum and provide an avenue for families to discuss essential questions presented by our curriculum with their students.
4.       On Tuesday of next week, an instrument demonstration will be provided to all 5th graders.  Representatives from Music and Arts will show the students the instruments they have available for rental, and information will go home in backpacks that day.  If you have a 5th grader interested in joining the band (even with no experience!) they should talk to Mr. Dodge and be here for the demonstration.  Any questions can be directed to Mr. Dodge at jdodge@attleboroschools.com.
5.       Finally, as you were surely notice next time you come through our front door, we have a large Clothes and Shoes Collection bin at our front entrance.   This is the product of a student-led initiative.  On a rolling basis from today on, we will be collecting new and used (washed, please) clothes, shoes, and blankets in this bin for charitable purposes.  Feel free to send your students in with items you would otherwise discard and help support our students’ commitment to community service.
