Wamsutta Family Update 11/22/2019
Posted on 11/22/2019

Good afternoon, Wamsutta Families.

BACKPACK ALERT AND DIGITAL NOTICES:  Nothing going home on paper today, and the one digital notice is from Titans Youth Lacrosse.

  1. In consultation with the Attleboro Police Department, we can say today that the threat we received on Tuesday has been determined to be not credible.  We will continue to work to ensure all our students’ safety every day.  If more updates are necessary on this topic, I will send them as appropriate.
  2. Parent conference letters will be sent home with all students Monday.  The faster they are returned to us the faster we can let you know when your appointment is.  We hope to have them all back by Monday, December 2nd, and we will let you know by Friday, December 6th at the latest when your appointment will be the following week.
  3. Wamsutta’s Student Council is continuing our food drive collecting dry and canned goods for the Hebron Food Pantry.  We have already collected 1,000 cans!  Thank you for your assistance and know that your contributions are greatly appreciated.  We’d love to get to 2,000 so we are extending the deadline to December 3rd.  Please participate if you can.
  4. As part of an area-wide Healthy Living Initiative, our 5th graders will participate in an assembly Tuesday to Choose H2O, as opposed to other sugary beverages.  They will be issued a WMS water bottle to take advantage of our water-filling stations around the school.  Although the bottles may not be here in time (we hope they will be) for the assembly, we will distribute them to all 5th graders as soon as we get them.
  5. The price of yearbooks will rise from $15 to $20 starting December 1.  You can find the info here and order your yearbook today. Email eduquette@attleboroschools.com with any questions.  Please act soon to take advantage of the early-bird pricing.
  6. Our PTO is participating in a fundraiser with 5 Below.  You will need the attached flyer for Wamsutta to benefit.  Whatever you spend at the 5 Below in North Attleboro from December 6-15 we get 10%.  Help us if you can.
  7. SECOND NOTICE 8TH GRADE FAMILIES:  Bristol Aggie will be sending a representative by on Tuesday, December 10th to talk to any students who might be interested in applying there.  Interested students can speak to Ms. McGee to sign up for the presentation.
