Wamsutta Family Update 08/20/2021
Posted on 08/20/2021

Dear Wamsutta Families:

Welcome back! The Wamsutta Middle School faculty is excited for the start of a (hopefully somewhat normal) school year. We hope that everyone had the chance to relax and enjoy the summer with family and friends. As the new principal of Wamsutta Middle School, I want to thank all the parents, students, teachers, and community members for making me feel so welcome this summer.

The WMS school community has a strong sense of respect based in part on communication. As part of this ongoing communication, I ask that throughout the school year you reference your Aspen portal, the WMS Facebook page, and your emails/Smores for any updates on events happening at WMS.

Thank you and see you soon,

Kevin Atkinson

  • Drop off for students that are considered “walkers” begins at 7:30 A.M. Please note, teachers will be posted throughout the campus beginning at 7:30 a.m. If your student is dropped off prior to 7:30, they will be unsupervised.

  • Students eating breakfast may enter the building @ 7:30 A.M.

  • Students may enter the building @ 7:40 A.M.

  • All students should report to their homeroom by 7:50 A.M.

  • The school day ends @ 2:20 P.M. Students that are staying after should make arrangements with the parent/guardian for pick up.

  • Students should also bring in a combination lock & provide the combination to their homeroom teacher.

  • Lunches & breakfast will again be free of charge for all students this year. However, all families need to complete lunch forms regardless of lunch status. The forms will be sent home with your child or may be found at attleboroschools.com. This data impacts our local funding including fee for service transportation waivers.

  • Please review the necessary paperwork (including lunch forms) and return these forms to your child’s homeroom teacher during the first week of school.

  • All parents/guardians and guests of the Wamsutta Middle School must enter via the

front entrance & check in with the main office.

Traffic Patterns/Entrances

  • 5th Grade Students will enter & exit the entrance nearest the gymnasium.
  • All other students (6-8) will enter & exit through the main entrance.
